What is Las Familias?

Las Familias is a School-Based program, billingual(English & Spanish) designed to help parents understand their rights and obligations in their children’s academic journey. Through this program, families learn how to navigate the education system, advocate for their children’s success, and become active participants in their learning experience.

What Parents Learn

Each session is designed to empower families through key educational topics:

1. Evolving Family Structures

Learn why all family stuctures are valuable for children’s well-being, regardless of their composition.

2. Parenting Styles

Explore the various approaches to raising children.

3. Family Communication

Learn the importance of healthy communication in the family nucleus.

4. How Children Learn

Discover how children learn and grow, multiple intelligences and learning styles.

5. Working Together

Strengthens collaboration between adults in the family for a better future for children.

6. Exploring the School System

Acquire the skills to successfully navigate the educational system to support children.
